With his back to the camera....

and in his mother's arms, little Bennett Reid is admitted to membership to the church on a very special day with a very special family.

Hard at work

"Farming looks mighty easy when your plow is a pencil and you're a thousand miles from the corn field."

"But, Mommy, it's Henry G, not John D!"

This is the summer of the Gentleman farmer. Mom and Dad learn the importance of soil preparation. Henry learns how to drive a tractor.

"Just about the time a woman thinks her work is done...

... she becomes a grandmother."

Happy Birthday Elliot!!

You were 2 on March 18! Hard to believe. Yesterday, mommy and daddy threw a swell party at Kid City just for you and some of your best friends and favorite family members.

Look in the background there, and you'll see your cousin Henry. Lots of toys. Lots of food. Lots of runny noses!

Here's to McKenzie, Our Wonderful Cat

Our wonderful calico cat, McKenzie, passed away recently. She lived with us for about 14 years. Uncle Casey was 10 when we got her at a shelter.
We've had lots of cats, but McKenzie was one of my favorites. In her larger days, I'd call her Jabba the Cat. This is the first cat Henry and Elliot really knew. And everytime you boys visited us, you looked for the kitty.
Uncle Casey took these photos. He says these are the special "modes" to remember McKenzie by -- warming herself on the heating vent; sitting on a box of food, or swatting at bugs here and there. We'll miss her.
